Taxi Driver

Good news from Baghdad. Well, good news unless you need transport.

“I drink seven or eight cans of beer a day and a bottle of whiskey on Thursday evenings,” said Abu Ahmed, a former military intelligence officer who now makes a living DRIVING A TAXI.

I don’t wish to disparage people making an honest living in a hellish environment, as I’m sure driving a cab in Iraq requires a lot of courage – perhaps some of it Dutch – but a passenger of Mr Ahmed could be forgiven for harbouring some private reservations about his commitment to road safety.
